GRADE 3

Dear Parents,

I am very proud of the progress the students have made this term in English. Their writing and spellings have come a long way since the beginning of the year but we still need to work harder with the punctuation skills. The class began looking at persuasive writing, for English this term. Persuasive writing is an important text type and sometimes can be a challenging concept. They have recently written a letter to convince me that they deserve an ice-cream from me. I thought I got some really valid reasons and therefore we had an ice-cream day on Wednesday. We made sure it was a nice sunny day to enjoy our ice-cream!!!

In Maths, students have been learning about coordinates and played different games like ‘battleships’ to practise the naming and interpreting of grid references. They were also exposed to using grid references on a map.

In Art, students displayed their creative skills by making African masks.

We have been focussing on researching during ICT and students worked on their Integrated Studies project - ‘Cultural Celebrations’ during these sessions.

Thank you for your continued support with your child’s learning!

I wish everyone a very Happy Ramadan!!
